McDonald's MGR-SUSTAINABILITY in Sao Paulo, Brazil

6146BR

Job Description:

This role can be based from any McDonald's global company owned office

Given our size and reach as the world’s largest restaurant company, McDonald’s has the responsibility and opportunity to take action on some of the most pressing social and environmental challenges in the world today. We embrace this opportunity to drive positive change where it’s most relevant, and to do so by collaborating with millions of customers, employees, franchisees, suppliers and other partners.

These initiatives are most successful when they go beyond our company to influence action both within our business network and beyond. We call this using our Scale for Good . We have recently reframed our Sustainability and

Corporate Responsibility strategy to be more focused, more customer-centric, and aligned with both our brand purpose and our company growth plan.

Sourcing our food responsibly is an important part of how we use our Scale for Good. At McDonald’s we’re committed to sourcing our ingredients in a way that allows people, animals and the planet to thrive. Responsible sourcing means we will be able to continue to use high-quality raw materials long into the future, and help make our customers feel good about our food.

Currently, we focus on six priority products: beef, chicken, coffee, fish, fiber-based packaging and palm oil. These products were identified through independent analysis by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) as the products that carry the greatest sustainability impacts – such as biodiversity loss or deforestation – and where we have the most potential to create positive change.

We want to ensure that our sustainable sourcing programs drive lasting, meaningful outcomes on critical issues for people, animals, the environment and our business. We define sustainable sourcing through what we call the three “E”s, and we’ve identified seven priority impact areas to support them:

  1. Respecting Human Rights

  2. Promoting the Health and Welfare of Animals

  3. Supporting Farmer Livelihoods

  4. Addressing Climate Change

  5. Reducing Food and Packaging Waste

  6. Protecting Water Resources

  7. Conserving Forests.

McDonald’s is recognized as a leader in sustainable sourcing and we are looking for a Manager to join this function globally. As a key member of a small team of subject matter experts, the Sustainable Sourcing Manager will play a key role in enabling us to address our key impact areas and drive measurable outcomes throughout our global supply chain.

We are a restless business – always innovating, always moving forward to do things better for our customers tomorrow than we do today. We’re on a journey. And the scale of our ambition means we have not yet reached our destination.

Our vision is ambitious, which means your role can create real impact. We want you to make big decisions. And we’ll give you the space to act with agility and speed to make change happen. Joining our team means being part of a fast-paced culture. It gives you an opportunity to work with exciting technologies and as part of a function that supports the growth of our brand.
