Requirements:

The General Manager is responsible for running a profitable restaurant and for making sure the restaurant meets McDonald’s critical customer standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness. These standards are high, so this is a big job! The General Manager works with his/her leader to set the restaurant’s goals and creates a plan to achieve the goals.

To meet restaurant goals, the General Manager doesn’t work alone. He or she leads a team of Department Managers that has specific responsibilities in the restaurant. This means helping the Department Managers to set their own goals, following up on their progress, and providing coaching and direction to improve their Departments. By improving the Departments, the restaurant improves!

The General Manager may also be responsible for hiring and developing Department and Shift Managers to make sure that the restaurant has the right team to lead into the future. Overview A McDonald’s Shift Manager is responsible for providing leadership to crew and other managers during a shift and to ensure great quality service is being provided to our customers.

Shift Managers will: • Monitor performance during the shift • Take action to ensure the team is meeting McDonald’s standards, monitor safety, security, and profitability • Communicate with the next Shift Manager to help prepare him/her to run a great shift, too.

Shift Managers are also responsible for meeting targets during their shifts and for helping their assigned Departments meet their goals.

Restaurant Manager Qualifications: • Must have minimum 1 year of experience in food service or restaurant industry • Experience in retail sales preferred • Excellent guest service skills required and have the ability to communicate efficiently to help keep all team members informed • Must be able to take direction and delegate responsibilities

Restaurant Manager Responsibilities • Effectively leads the restaurant during a shift to ensure that excellent restaurant operations are consistently achieved • Leads each shift by delegating duties, assigning tasks and ensuring team members are prepared for each day • Work with the leadership team to meet sales goals • Complete and verify daily food safety checklist, monitor food safety procedures during the shift • Monitor execution of shift training and review training needs for crew • Identify and respond to equipment and physical plant failure/unplanned activities • Enforce all applicable labor and employment laws and McDonald’s policies • Manage inventory, receive products by checking order accuracy, quality and condition • Follow company Operation Security Guidelines including those for cash handling and safety/security, to ensure the safety of all team members and guest during the shift • Track raw and completed waste on each shift • Document and follow up on any customer concerns when necessary • Ensure cash controls are in place for shift and check security equipment for proper operation • Maintain fast, accurate service, provides excellent customer service, and meets and/or exceeds both company and customer expectations • Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promotes the culture of our company • Maintains a positive work environment for team members and guest during each shift
