This position will provide high potential candidates Real Estate experience through immersion within the multiple McDonald’s Real Estate functions.
Key responsibility of this role will be to support the development activities of the National Real Estate COE and the Portfolio Coe. This support will involve working on specific projects or initiatives under the supervision of the National Real Estate Lead and/or Asset Manager.
Position is to be used as an interim position for candidates that have future potential toward National Real Estate Manager or Asset Manager Positions. Key Customers include The National Real Estate Director, National Real Estate Lead, Portfolio Director, Asset Managers and Field Execution Teams.
This position will/may require considerable travel of 30 to 50+ percent depending on location. The scope of the travel is the entirety of the US.
* This is a remote position. Qualified candidates can live in Washington D.C., Tampa, Raleigh, Dallas, Houston and/or Chicago (our high growth markets); however, would ideally reside within close proximity to our Chicago corporate office*

BA/BS degree required
2+ years of corporate and/or commercial Real Estate experience or Master’s Degree in Business or Real Estate function
Masters degree in a business or real estate function strongly preferred
CCIM and/or MCR certifications a plus
Demonstrated Knowledge of Commercial Real Estate Norms and Practices
Demonstrated Knowledge of development financial concepts, practices and theories
High Learning orientation and self-starter
Excellent written and oral communication skills at levels
Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
In addition to following McDonald’s policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders within the Real Estate COE, Portfolio COE, PMO and Field Execution Teams.
Establish and supervise relationships with external vendors (i.e. brokers, developers, retailers, ICSC) that support the goals of USRD.
Participate in both internal and external meetings and events to gain knowledge of company initiatives and trends in the real estate industry.
Work with Field Execution teams and COE members, by supporting the restaurant development planning processes of Market Studies, Asset Planning and Long-term Real Estate planning (LTRE).
Gain a complete understanding of the 5 stages of development through on the job training activities such as Rebuild/Relo Analysis/Package assembly.
Support goals and objectives of the Real Estate Center of Excellence (RE COE), Field Execution Teams and Asset Management.
Development Plan Execution
Using technology, participate in the creation of actionable Market Plans, Asset Plans, and misc. USRD presentations.
Working with Field Execution Teams and COEs to facilitate Trade Shows such as ICSC RECON, Oil and Airport Seminars and others.
Work with National Real Estate Manager and Asset Managers to gain an understanding of site investigation and internal approval process through the assembling and presentation of site packages.
Review, organize and support Real Estate offerings and present those offerings to the field.
Provide additional Real Estate Support to the Field Execution Teams during periods of staffing imbalances.
Through working on specific supervised new store opening, gain an understanding of steps necessary to secure all required approvals and steps for the development of McDonald’s Restaurant.
Become proficient at the negotiation of Real Estate Purchase Agreements and leases by working with Asset Managers and National Real Estate Managers on assigned deals.
