Job Description:



The Director of Digital Business Optimization and Merchandising is responsible for leading a team of business managers to develop, implement and optimize the revenue strategy across multiple channels such as mobile, web, and kiosk. The US Market represents 14,000 US restaurants, over $35B in sales annually, as well as over 40% of the operating income for McDonald's Corporation.

In this role, you will work collaboratively with the US digital product, business optimization, and digital execution leads, as well cross functional teams, regions, and franchisees to drive sales targets and increase market share. You will partner with various internal stakeholders to evolve McDonald’s promotional strategy into a concise omni-channel strategy. This role will also be a lead influencer of the customer path to purchase for mobile ordering and kiosk.

Minimum Requirements:

§ Bachelor’s Degree required

§ 10-12+ years of business experience, with at least 5 years in a digital or merchandising/marketing capacity, specifically within mobile, web or kiosk

§ Experience working in a highly ambiguous, matrix organization

§ Experience developing integrated promotional pricing and offer strategies

§ Project management skills and excellent communication and persuasion abilities

§ An entrepreneurial mindset with the rigor and discipline to build the business and creative competencies that will allow McDonald’s to stand out in the market

§ Strong grasp of business strategy and ability to prioritize opportunities

§ Broad business acumen spanning multiple functions including sales, marketing, promotions, and operations ,




In addition to following McDonald’s policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

Define revenue strategy in partnership with marketing and finance and insights

§ Define promotion and offer strategy

§ Drive channel usage to gather purchase data

§ Leverage transactional data to optimize strategy (4X Lift to digital revenue)

§ Develop AB testing to optimize channel opportunities

§ Evolve into 1:1 offer strategy based on customer purchase history

§ Use data analytics to move past simple insights into actionable recommendations

§ Right products in the right place at the right time at the right price

§ Customization - Reduce/Optimize customer time to order by using purchase history

§ Conduct statistical tests for merchandising optimization

§ Define customer product, pricing and content preferences to maximize communication/marketing/offers strategies

§ Setting taxonomy and product hierarchies

§ AB testing to determine most impactful content

§ Create and manage product commerce site

§ Manage Website P&L

§ Manage product life cycle Retail experience teaming with IT and Operations

§ Define experiences of the future to add value to customer experience while finding additional revenue and profit opportunities

§ Digital display boards, wireless charging, gaming etc.

§ Develop a winning culture that encourages innovation focused on enhancing the customer experience which results in significantly enhanced business performance
