Job Description:

The Project and Fixed Asset Accounting Team within Global Business Services processes real estate transactions for over 15,000 Restaurants in the U.S. and Canada. The team helps account for and manages over $10 billion in fixed assets and is responsible for the majority of accounting functions related to construction projects and real estate activities. Key customers include U.S. and Canada Restaurant Development and Finance teams.

Minimum Requirements:

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of accounting experience

  • High school Diploma, GED required

  • Willing to relocate to Chicago Corporate Office in 2018

  • Willing to travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree preferred

  • Accounting degree is an advantage

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail

Overall Objective

  • The Project Accounting Representative is responsible for supporting and monitoring construction and fixed asset activity. This includes reconciling construction projects and validating transactions are accounted for properly on the general ledger and the fixed asset subledger. The role also involves real estate transactions for condemnations, asset retirements, partnering programs, and the review of monthly P&L and balance sheet accounts, while providing customer service to the market Restaurant Development and Finance teams.

Key Tasks

  • Obtains and maintains a thorough understanding of project accounting concepts.

  • Assists and supports in providing balance sheet and income statement financial information.

  • Performs monthly account reconciliations and fixed asset exception reporting.

  • Collaborates with internal and external customers providing superior customer service.

  • Ensures all documentation retained is SOX compliant.


  • Supports all accounting functions related to project accounting and fixed assets.

  • Participates in audit activities by providing documents requested.

  • Research and provide answers to customer inquiries.

  • Ensuring accounting functions are completed by designated completion dates.
